Terms & Conditions

Rules for using the RacketRate website and app.

Applies to website + app Last updated: 7 Mar 2026 Privacy policy

These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to your use of the RacketRate website and app (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance and changes

You accept these Terms when you sign up or first use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and, for material changes, we may notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after the change means you accept the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the bottom shows when these Terms were last revised.

2. Use of the Service

RacketRate provides tools for running club sessions, recording matches and tracking rankings (including ELO) for court sports. You may use the Service only for lawful purposes, in line with these Terms and any applicable laws. You are responsible for your own conduct and for any content or data you add to the Service (for example club names, match results and messages).

Some features may require watching a short third-party rewarded video ad to unlock access for a limited time. These ads are non-personalised (no behavioural ad targeting).

If you create or manage a club (for example as an owner or admin), you confirm you are authorised to do so and that you will use member data lawfully for club operations. The club-owner data processing responsibilities in this section apply specifically to club owners / organisers who create or manage clubs in the Service. By creating a club, you accept these responsibilities.

As a club owner / organiser, you agree to:

  • only use personal data needed to run club operations (for example names, attendance, matches and rankings);
  • only grant access to authorised club staff who need it for club operations (for example owners/admins/coaches); and
  • provide appropriate privacy information to members and use the Service lawfully under applicable data protection law (including GDPR / UK GDPR where applicable).

3. Account

You must provide accurate information when you register and keep your account details secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us and change your password promptly.

You must be 13 or over to use the Service and confirm this at account sign-up. We do not currently require date of birth at sign-up for this check. In the profile setup step, only your display name is required; other profile fields are optional.

4. Acceptable conduct

You must not use the Service to harass, abuse, defame, or harm others; to post illegal, offensive or misleading content; to impersonate others; to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' data; or to interfere with the proper operation of the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

5. Content and intellectual property

We do not claim ownership of the content you upload (for example match data and club information). You grant us a licence to use, store and display that content as needed to provide and improve the Service. The RacketRate name, logo and the design and code of the Service are our intellectual property. You may not copy, scrape or reuse them without our permission.

6. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or fit for any particular purpose. Rankings, ELO and other stats are for informational use; we do not guarantee their accuracy for any specific purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss (for example loss of data, profits or goodwill) arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or, if nothing was paid, to £100). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or for other operational or legal reasons. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. We may retain or delete your data in line with our Privacy Policy and legal obligations.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you may also bring proceedings there.

11. Contact

For questions about these Terms, contact us via the About page or email us at [email protected].
